he search for renewable energy sources as an alternative to fossil fuels is of very importance and flourishing. This study would be better for alternate energy sources which are pollution free, i.e., DSSCs. In KSA sunlight is available for most of the time thus DSSCs would be better choice as energy source. This study would help the clean energy technology. The sunlight would be converted into electricity by using DSSCs. New hydrazone based sensitizers dyes 2-{4-[2-(2-Hydroxybenzylidene)hydrazino]- phenyl}ethylene-1,1,2-tricarbonitrile (dye1), 2-{4-[2-(4-Hydroxybenzylidene)hydrazino]phenyl}ethylene-1,1,2-tricarbonitrile (dye2), 2-{4-[2-(3,4,5-Trimethoxybenzylidene)hydrazino]phenyl}ethylene-1,1,2-tricarbonitrile (dye3), 2-{4-[2-(3-Ethoxy-4- hydroxybenzylidene}hydrazino]phenyl)ethylene-1,1,2-tricarbonitrile (dye4), have been synthesized and then characterized by UV-Vis, FT-IR and NMR techniques
