Abstract
Hypercholesterolemia plays a key role in the development and progression of atherosclerosis and is a proven risk factor for coronary heart disease (CHD). The present study aimed to examine the effect of turmeric and parsley on hypercholesterolemia in cardiovascular system. In addition, the study investigates the role of these plants on the biochemical changes and the expression of LDL-R gene in normocholesterolemic and hypercholesterolemic rats. In the present study, male Wistar rats (Sprague Dawely), weighing about 200– 250 g were used as experimental animals.
