الملخص

The photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue dye was successfully carried under UV irradiation over two series of mixed oxide systems Fe2O3/TiO2, Cr2O3/TiO2 embedded various composition of Fe2O3 and Cr2O3 (0-20) wt % synthesized by sol-gel process. Structural and textural features of the mixed oxide samples were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transformer infra-red (FTIR), Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), Field emission electron microscope (FE-SEM) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). XRD results revealed that the existence of various content of Fe2O3 or Cr2O3 influence, the nature of titania crystalline phases and size. The incorporation of an appropriate amount of Fe2O3 or Cr2O3 is associated by shifting the physicochemical and optical features of the sample toward more favorable photocatalytic degradation results. The photoactive anatase phase with nano particle size exists at low Iron or Chromium oxide concentration (1-7 wt %). However, increasing Fe2O3 contents from 10% to 20%) lead to anatase-rutile transformation,an increase in the particle size, and remarkable...
