Abstract

Abstract This paper examines the popularity of blogs among Saudi youth. It also looks at the usefulness of weblogs (blogs) in second language learning and the students' attitudes towards the integration of blog in second language learning classroom. The researcher utilized students' blog in second language classrooms in a two-week project. Ten students participated and completed questionnaires and interview questions. The results show that the project assisted second language students to gain confidence in writing in English, high motivation and a sense of independence. This research explores how incorporating blog can create independence by encouraging out-of-class interaction with authentic language mediums. It also motivates students to practice English language outside the classroom and raise their confidence in writing and thinking in English.
