Abstract
The construction sector is gaining prominence in developing nations and holds a crucial position in the economies of developed ones. This study focuses on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Asir area and highlights the key sustainability indicators (SIs) that are essential for ensuring sustainable performance in building projects. These indicators should be utilized during the Conceptual (CS), Design (DS), Construction (COS), and Operation (OPS) stages. Through the use of sustainability indicators (SIs), research was carried out. To ensure long-term effectiveness, the SIs must be employed during all the specified phases of construction. The questionnaire was designed to collect data and identify the most essential strategic initiatives (SIs) that need to be implemented at each stage to ensure long-term performance sustainability. Three primary dimensions?economic, social, and environmental?were considered based on an expert survey. Additionally, assessed were the sub-criteria of dimensions. To ascertain the most significant Sis i.e. Dimensions impacting various construction phases as well as other sub-criteria that are influencing the construction stages, the weighted average from the AHP approach was employed. The research results of this study can provide valuable assistance to sustainable building planners, designers, and developers in the Aseer region in meeting sustainability criteria.
