Abstract
Women as Authors and Characters in Elizabethan Drama : An Abstract. The research paper is about female characters and authors in Elizabethan drama, it is divided into five sections that are related to each other in order to support the main idea of the research. As women have had few rights in the early modern period and because women were very much confined to the domestic sphere, many people assumed that Elizabethan women were mostly nothing more than walking dolls. However, this is not the truth either in real life or in drama, to prove this the paper deals with a number of female characters from the plays of Shakespeare, Webster, and Elizabeth Carey.
