تأثير تناول البروكلي على فئران التجارب المصابة بمرض السكري
The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of broccoli intake on hyperglycemic rats. The Broccoli was acquire in the local market of Saudi Arabia and chemical analyses were conduct. After steam boiling of broccoli for 4-5 minute, it was dry at 50 centigrade and add to the diet. The research sample included 70 male adult Albino rats, its weight ranging from 200-210 grams. After the rats have been adapted to their new environmental conditions, they were divide into seven equal groups composed of 10 rats in each group. The first group was fed on a standard diet (negative control group), whereas the 60 rats were injected with Streptozetocin 60 mg/kg which were rat with diabetics. The treated animals were divide into groups of: the positive control group and the second group that fed with standard meal; while the third, fourth, and fifth group fed with the standard meal mixed with 10, 20, 30% of dried broccoli respectively, While six and seven groups fed on extract of broccoli 2.5,5% respectively, for two mouths. Rats were weighed weekly throughout the study to identify weight increase. At the end of the treatment period, Biochemical parameter were estimated in the serum, and the antioxidants were evaluated in both the liver and kidney.
